Three SCGSAH students were named 2016 YoungArts Finalists by the National YoungArts Foundation and will go on to participate in National YoungArts Week in Miami, FL. Three other students were also recognized for works in Dance, Theatre and Creative Writing.
On Sunday, November 22nd, vocal students from the SCGSAH Music Department performed scenes from
The Fairy Queen by Purcell, The Magic Flute by Mozart, The Marriage of
Figaro by Mozart, Carmen by Bizet, and Nabucco by Verdi. The on-campus
event was held in Smith Recital Hall.

SCGSAH drama students will present a weekend of performances in Odets!, an investigation into the life and work of American playwright Clifford Odets. Odets! is comprised of selections from three of Odetsí works: Golden Boy, Rocket to the Moon, and Waiting for Lefty.

The Third Annual Junior Artist Piano Competition at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities featured performances from 18 talented competitors from across South Carolina who competed for cash awards totaling more than $2,500. Find out who took home the 2015 trophies.
On Tuesday, October 27, the Fall Wind Ensemble Concert was streamed live from the Gunter Theatre at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts. Students performed a piece composed by our new president Dr. Cedric Adderley with Dr. Adderley conducting the piece. The performance is live recording of the performance is available.
