S.C. Governor's School Presents: Choral Concert

The South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) Music Department will give the gift of music to the Greenville community with its annual Choral Concert, Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The free concert will be held in the sanctuary of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, located at 200 Buncombe St. in downtown Greenville.

The concert features music from the 23-member Cantus Chamber Choir and the 89-member Governorís School Choir together under the direction of Dr. David Rhyne. ďGloria,Ē a piece by Baroque-era composer Antonio Vivaldi, will be the eveningís featured work. It will be sung by the Governorís School Choir with an instrumental ensemble of faculty and staff musicians.

Other selections include a variety of seasonal and non-seasonal pieces by Eric Whitacre, Felix Mendelssohn, Paul Manz, Franz Schubert, and Edward Elgar.

The public is encouraged to attend. The sanctuary at Buncombe Street United Methodist Church is handicapped accessible through the parking lot on College Street.
