SCGSAH Public Relations Office Internship Position

Opening Date:     July 25, 2017                    Closing Date: Until Filled

The South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities is seeking an intern to assist the Office of Public Relations with developing and maintaining various forms of communication that include website content, event promotions, social media and print materials.

- Promoting performances and events via the SCGSAH website, community calendars, social media, e-blasts and weekly media alerts
- Updating the school website
- Developing social media content
- Maintaining student, faculty, alumni and school achievement lists
- Maintaining press release and media coverage lists
- Updating state-wide media list
- Proofing and editing marketing materials and press releases
- Various tasks as needed
- If skill set allows, taking and editing photos and/or creating short videos as needed.

Candidate must be a college senior or recent graduate with a major in English, business, or communications (journalism, marketing, etc.). He/she should be familiar with MS Office applications, able to work on a Macbook, and have an understanding of how to use social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). Strong writing and editing skills are essential. Candidates can also multi-task, stay organized, complete tasks thoroughly, and manage time efficiently. Multi-media experience with photography and/or video is not required, but preferred.

Candidate must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, reliable transportation, and the ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
