Summer Programs Residential Life Coordinator


The South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities, located in Greenville, South Carolina, is seeking residential life coordinators for summer programs. These staff members are valuable members of the student services team, providing direct oversight and direction for students during their out-of-classroom summer experience.

The Governorís School is a public residential high school and summer program serving students in creative writing, dance, drama, music, and visual arts. The Governorís School holds three distinct student summer programs: Academy (rising 10th grade students), Discovery (rising 9th grade students), and Summer Dance (rising 7th through 12th grade students). Position Dates: Monday, June 12, 2017 through Saturday, July 22, 2017. While students are in session, work is primarily during evenings and weekends.

Pay: $440 per week for six weeks, including room for the duration of employment and board while students are in session.

Location: The 2017 SCGSAH summer programs will be held on the schoolís Greenville, South Carolina campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and oversight to students enrolled in the Governorís Schoolís summer programs.

  • Enforce discipline and safety policies and procedures.

  • Communicate with faculty, staff, and parents regarding student issues or needs.

  • Serve as mentor and role model.

Required Experience: A minimum of one full year of college, university, or conservatory is required. A valid driverís license is required.

Preferred Experience: Experience with students in a camp or residential environment is preferred. Preference may be given to applicants who are 21 years of age or older and with additional educational or work experience.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY


Records Analyst III

OPENING DATE:  February 10, 2017

STATE POSITION NUMBER:  60028032            CLOSING DATE:  March 3, 2017

SALARY RANGE:  $32,838.00-$60,760.00            BAND:  05

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Full-time, may include occasional evenings or weekends.

LOCATION:  South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities, Greenville, SC

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma and experience in records management, information systems, or office administration.

PREFERRED:  A bachelor's degree, experience working as a registrar using Power School software, and familiarity with Word, Excel, and other relevant Microsoft applications.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:
The registrar is the chief person responsible for creating and maintaining all student records in accordance with school and state guidelines. Primary duties include: Creating student records for new students and maintaining updated student information in Power School.  Development of transcripts, to include requesting transcripts from previous schools upon acceptance of new students, providing copies of transcripts as requested for registration and college acceptance purposes and to satisfy mid-year and final transcript requests from colleges; development and updating of Records of Units Earned for each student.  Completion of report cards, to include maintaining historical files in Power School, mailing of report cards to parent/guardians, developing reports for administration as requested, and determining honor roll lists.  Overseeing the scheduling and registration process in Power School, to include setting up necessary templates, entering data for new students, setting up master calendars and schedules, and executing scheduling for all students based on information from the dean and department chairs.  Assisting with Commencement activities, to include verification of names, ordering of state and scholars diplomas, assisting with commencement ceremony as requested, and filing graduation reports as requested by the SC Department of Education.  Supporting guidance department/academic office activities, to include opening weekend registration activities, the annual college fair, AP Testing, state reporting requests, etc.  Other duties as assigned.
