Faculty Chamber Music concert to be held Sept. 15
Music faculty and guest artist Deirdre Hutton of Furman University to perform
GREENVILLE, SC - Music faculty of the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities will be in concert on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 7:30 pm in Smith Recital Hall.
The event is free and open to the public. However, interested persons should contact the Music department at 864.282.3758 with questions concerning seating.
Caroline Ulrich and Ian Bracchitta will open the concert with a duo for flute and double bass. The first half of the concert will conclude with the Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 11 by Beethoven, performed by Dr. Kyra Zhang, clarinet, Robert O'Brien, cello and Dr. Stephen Taylor, piano.
The second half will feature Petrea Warneck, oboe, Kyra Zhang, clarinet and Sonja Coppenbarger, bassoon performing Alexandre Tansman's Suite for Woodwind Trio.
The program will conclude with the rousing Horn Trio in E-flat Major by Johannes Brahms, featuring Paula Riddle, horn, Stephen Taylor, piano and guest artist Deirdre Hutton of Furman University, violin.
