Fall Dance Performance presented by SC Governor's School for the Arts

SOUTH CAROLINA - November 9, 2011 - The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) Fall Dance Performance will be held November 12 and November 13 in the Gunther Theater of the  Peace Center.

This performance will highlight the amazing SCGSAH dancers in a mix of classical and modern pieces. The dancers will be performing excerpts from the classical ballets Paquita, Sleeping Beauty and Raymonda.  In addition, dance faculty Lloyd Whitmore and Sandra Neels will debut a modern dance piece. 

The 2011 Fall Dance program will surely be a night to remember.

The dance program at SCGSAH is directed by Stanislav Issaev. He is the 2011 Youth American Grand Prix Outstanding Teacher given by the world renowned dance organization.  A former dancer with the Moscow State  Ballet Theatre and principal with the Atlanta Ballet, Issaev was the Director of the USC Dance Conservatory and Associate Director of USC Dance in South Carolina before joining SCGSAH.

Issaev's rich dance history allows him to mold his dancers into the best in the nation. For the graduated Class of 2011, his students were accepted to 17 different professional dance company training programs and 30 respected college and university programs with scholarship and artistic awards totaling more than $500,000.  In addition, several alumni are dancers with world-renowned ballet companies, such as the American Ballet Theater and the New York City Ballet.
