Juilliard Bound: Brandon Hall
Governor's School student gains acceptance to Juilliard
SOUTH CAROLINA - March 25, 2011 - South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities (SC Governor's School) student Brandon Hall gains acceptance to Juilliard's Drama Division for the 2011/2012 school year.
The first male accepted to Juilliard from the SC Governor's School, Brandon endured a rigorous audition process along with 1000+ world-wide applicants for the program. In the end, he was one of 18 actors admitted. Juilliard, school-wide, has an average admittance rate of less than 10%, which shows the caliber of Brandon's talent.
Brandon, a native of Anderson, has been with the SC Governor's School in the drama discipline for two years. He previously attended Pendleton High School.
"Eight of our students have received this honor now, but Brandon is the first male, and none have come farther or faster than he," said Daniel Murray, Drama Chair for the SC Governor's School.
Brandon's success was built upon his extraordinary character and work ethic. With the help of the SC Governor's School teachers and staff, he was able to focus his energy and become an outstanding talent.
Founded in 1905, the Juilliard School provides the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers, and actors from around the world, so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders, and global citizens.
