SCGSAH ranks 3rd in SC SAT Scores
Greenville, SOUTH CAROLINA - January 12, 2012 - The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) ranks 3rd in the state for 2011 SAT scores.
"Since the primary admission criteria for our school is artistic talent, we are honored to be recognized for academic excellence along with two schools that have very high academic admission standards," says Dr. Bruce Halverson, President of SCGSAH.
With 100% of senior students taking the exam, SCGSAH's composite score was 1692. The South Carolina statewide composite score was 1436. Only a handful of schools in the state had 100% participation.
Artistic potential, not high grades or test scores are required for admission to SCGSAH. Yet the school consistently ranks in SC's top three public high schools for SAT scores.
SCGSAH ranks behind The South Carolina Governor's School for Science and Math in Hartsville and the Academic Magnet High School in Charleston.
