Michael Giller has worked at the Governor’s School since 2000 and has a Master's degree in Library and Information Science and a B.A degree in English from the University of South Carolina. Mr. Giller has served as Chair of the Youth Services Section and on the Executive Board of the South Carolina Library Association. In 2007 he received the ProQuest/SIRS Intellectual Freedom Award from the South Carolina Association of School Librarians. His varied library experience includes public libraries, USC’s Law Library, preservation work with the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, and book reviewing for School Library Journal. His library interests include information literacy and bibliographic instruction, young adult literature, intellectual freedom, and promoting youth advocacy. Michael also plays the accordion, soccer and Ultimate Frisbee.
