Libby Higgins

Math & Science Department Chair

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ms. Higgins earned her BS in Mathematics from UNC Charlotte and an MS in Mathematics from Clemson University. She was a college Math instructor for 22 years at various colleges including Clemson University, Anderson College, Blue Ridge Community College, James Madison University, Auburn at Montgomery, and Greenville Technical College. In addition to these faculty positions, she was the Director for the South Carolina Governor's School for Excellence in Teaching at Furman University and the Manager for the Carolina First Center for Excellence at the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce.

Having done professional development for teachers across the State of SC as well as throughout the country, Ms. Higgins was also the Principal Investigator for a National Science Foundation grant. Some of her honors while teaching have included Greenville Technical College's Math Department faculty person of the Year, Arts and Sciences Faculty person of the Year, the Associate Math Department Head at Greenville Tech, and an Exemplary faculty member for the South Carolina Advanced Technological Education Program.
