Karen was born and raised in Southern California. She attended Cal State University Northridge for four years with a major in graphic arts. Karen joined the staff at the Governor's School in March of 2006. She worked in the Guidance office and was Attendance Coordinator for a couple of years, more commonly known as the "Attendance Nazi" - but don't let that fool you - she also loved her work helping students get in to the colleges and universities they desire. She then worked in the Enrollment & Outreach Office helping to recruit future students from all over the state of South Carolina. She is back again in the Guidance Office assiting current students apply for college, maintains the website calendar and publishes the school's Weekly Bulletin.
