Sherwood Mobley
Percussion, Percussion Ensemble Instructor
Mr. Mobley has performed Russell Peck's Harmonic Rhythm, Timpani Concerto with South Carolina Philharmonic, Greenville Symphony Orchestra, Mobile (Alabama) Symphony Orchestra, Winston-Salem (North Carolina) Symphony Orchestra, and the Municipal Orchestra of Caracas in Venezuela.
Mr. Mobley is actively involved in academia. He has served on the faculties of Reinhardt College, Columbus State University, and Clark Atlanta University in Georgia. In Venezuela, he taught at the Ninos Cantores Institute and Jose Luis Paz Conservatory. He served as interim instructor of percussion for one semester at Furman University in Greenville, SC and is currently on the faculty at South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.
As a freelance musician, Mr. Mobley has performed with numerous Broadway touring companies and with major artist such as Diana Ross, The Temptations, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Mathis, and the late Barry White, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis, Jr.
Mr. Mobley resides in Simpsonville, SC with his wife Debbie Paden Mobley and their daughters, Naomi and Sarah.
