Paul Statsky

Violin Instructor

Paul Statsky, a native of Brooklyn, New York, started his first music lessons at the age of eight with Alfred Troemel at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. He holds the Bachelor of Science degree from The Juilliard School of Music, and the Master of Music degree from Indiana University. In 1974, he joined the faculty of the Interlochen Arts Academy as artist-teacher for eight years. In 1982, he became Chair of the Violin Department of The Cleveland Institute of Music. He was appointed Associate Professor of Music in Violin at Converse College in 1988.  In addition to teaching at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, and maintaining a private teaching studio, he plays in the first violin section of the Asheville Symphony.
