Residential Drama Admissions

Application
Drama applicants must submit an accurate and current 8” x 10” black and white headshot with their application.

Audition

Performance
All applicants are required to perform all of the following:

  • One contemporary monologue, one to two minutes in length
  • One monologue from a Shakespearean play, one to two minutes in length
  • Sing a short selection from a song, preferably 16 bars, without accompaniment
  • Applicant must:
    • Not exceed five minutes in the performance component of the audition
    • Memorize all material
    • Read the entire plays from which the monologues are extracted (Do not use monologues from monologue books without then reading the play.)
    • Select material appropriate for his/her age and experience
    • Avoid accents, dialects or stylized characters
    • Dress neatly and comfortably

Interview

A panel of theatre professionals will conduct a personal interview with each applicant following the performance component of the audition.
