Academy Application

Drama applicants must submit an accurate and current 8" x 10" black and white headshot (head and shoulders) with their application.

Academy Audition

Performance

All applicants are required to perform all of the following:

  • One contemporary monologue, one to two minutre in length
  • A contrasting contemporary monologue, one to two mintues in length
  • Sing a short selection from a song, preferably 16 bars, without accompaniment

Applicant must:

  • Read the entire plays from which the monologues are extracted (Do not use monologues from monologue books without then reading the play.)
  • Memorize all material thoroughly
  • Select material appropriate for his/her age and experience
  • Avoid accents, dialects or stylized characters
  • Dress appropriately (Neat attire, no torn jeans, flip-flops, or t-shirts)
  • Not exceed five minutes in the performance component of the audition

Interview

A panel of Drama Faculty will conduct a personal interview with each applicant following the performance component of the audition.

Discovery Application

Drama applicants must submit an accurate and current 8" x 10" black and white headshot (head and shoulders) with their application.

Discovery Audition

Drama Workshop: Group and individual exercises with drama faculty.

Interview: Drama faculty will conduct a personal interview with each applicant in addition to the workshop component of the audition.

Attire: The Drama workshop will be very active, including elements of movement, acting, voice, improvisation. Discovery applicants should dress neatly and comfortably for the audition, and wear athletic footwear.
