Campus & Student Life - Summer

The 8.5 acre campus overlooks Reedy River Falls Park in the cultural hub of downtown Greenville. Designed to emulate a Tuscan village, the community includes a residence hall, state-of-the-art performance hall, black box theatre, contemporary library, classrooms, studios, laboratories, practice rooms, fitness center and an art gallery, all surrounded by gardens, sculpture and open courtyards.

The residential life program is designed to provide a rich living and learning community environment conducive to personal, social, artistic and intellectual growth. This program supports the mission of the school by seeking to provide students with the support and structure needed to maximize development in all areas.

Residential life coordinators (RLCs) are the full-time professional staff that live in the residence hall. They are responsible for many duties ranging from checking students in at curfew to driving them to the doctor to collaborating with faculty to ensure students are working to their full potential.

Life at the Governor's School is a constant collaboration as faculty, staff and emerging artists from different backgrounds and all five art areas work together, learn from one another, and grow to form bonds that last long past graduation.
