Discovery Drama

Overview

Discovery Drama offers talented young South Carolina theatre artists the opportunity to study with some of the best teacher-artists in the region. Students will become a member of the Discovery Drama Ensemble, and begin experimenting with the building blocks of performance in classes like contemporary acting, classical acting, movement, improvisation, and voice and speech. Each day students will receive monologues or scenes. In the evening, there will be rehearsal time to work on assignments and to explore the practical aspects of an acting career, such as creating a resume and acting for the camera. By the end of the session participants will be ready to enter high school with an advanced level of artistry and confidence.
