Visual Arts Student Exhibition: Firebird Suite

In collaboration with the Greenville Center for the Creative Arts (GCCA) and Greenville Symphony Orchestra (GSO), Governor’s School Visual Arts students in the Senior Figure Drawing class created large-scale illustrations to accompany the GSO’s performance of Igor Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. Produced in a range of media including acrylics, inks, cut paper and pastels, these works tell the story of young Prince Ivan as he battles the evil sorcerer Koschei with the aid of the fabled Firebird. These images will be projected onstage at the Peace Center during the GSO’s performance of the Firebird Suite on January 25 and 26. Don’t miss your chance to see these amazing pieces of student work up-close and in person at the GCCA.
