Cary Perkins has been an adjunct instructor at the Governor’s School since 2008, teaching architecture and 3-D design. She is a licensed Architect and Associate Principal at McMillan Pazdan Smith, located just down the street from campus on Augusta Street. Cary has a BFA in Studio Art from Converse College and a Masters in Architecture from Clemson University.
At MPS, Cary is a Project Manager in the Community Studio, a diverse group of designers focusing on community-rooted and public buildings. Cary approaches design as a collaborative effort through teamwork, a process of guided discovery with clients, and a problem-solving effort toward elegant solutions. Cary has overseen the Christ Church Performing Arts Center and the Rosalind S. Richardson Center for the Arts at Wofford College, both of which hope to contribute significantly to the presence of the arts on their campuses and to extend the reach of arts education into the community.
