Many corporations show their support by matching the gifts their employees make to non-profit organizations allowing you to double or even triple your impact. Please ask your employer about making a matching gift.  Then mail us a completed form or submit your matching gift online and notify us. 

Matching Gifts are when a company matches an employee's philanthropic support, up to a certain threshold. For example, General Electric matches employee gifts with a 1:1 match, up to $5000. So for GE employees, if they submit a donation of $50 to the Governor's School Foundation, GE will also give a gift of $50, totaling $100 in support for Govies!
All organizations are different, but Matching Gifts are a remarkably simple way to potentially increase revenue for the Governor's School Foundation exponentially.

Set up a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and make tax-deductible contributions of assets to the fund. By making this gift upfront then distributing grants to non-profits like the SC Governor's School of Arts & Humanities, you can maximize the impact on your taxable income.

Consult your financial team to see if a DAF is right for you.

If you're 70 ½ years or older, consider making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) through an IRA rollover to support the Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation. A QCD is tax-free and can lower your overall tax liability, even if you don't itemize deductions on your tax return. Reach out to us or consult your IRA administrator for more details on how you can contribute.

Transferring stocks or bonds allows you to make a gift and to receive a charitable deduction equal to the full fair market value of the securities.Please contact us for further instructions and to let us know the name of the broker who will handle the transaction for you, the name of the stock, and the number of shares you are donating (Example: 500 shares of IBM Stock), so that we can be aware that the gift is forthcoming. We accept gifts made through electronic funds transfer. Please contact us to receive instructions and notify us of the amount and intention of your gift. 

Naming a space at the Governor’s School is a way to leave your permanent mark and support the next generation of artists.
