As a Teaching Artist in the Office of Outreach, Jeff Robinson designs professional development and educational resources for teachers and students throughout the state, including virtual programming, school-based workshops, and Teacher Retreats. He also coordinates the Governor's School's service learning program, Connecting Arts Through Service, which acts as the student-led arm of its Outreach Programs.

 

Prior to joining staff at the Governor's School, Jeff served as the Director of Bands at York Middle School and Asst. Director at York Comprehensive High School in York, SC. The York School District One band program has been consistently recognized at the State and Regional Level, including the placement of numerous students in All-County, All-State, and All-Region bands, top three finishes at State Marching Band Championships, a top 10 finish at the Bands of America Winston-Salem Regional, and Superior ratings at State assessments for Concert and Jazz performance.

 

Jeff is an active teacher and performer. He holds a Bachelor in Music Education (2014) and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration (2020) from Winthrop University. During his graduate studies, Jeff was selected as the inaugural Graduate Fellow for the South Carolina Arts Alliance and in 2021 became a Riley Fellow through SC Afterschool Leaders Empowered. He serves on the Board of Palmetto State Arts Education, is a member of the South Carolina Band Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, South Carolina Music Educators Association, is a South Carolina Teaching Fellow, and a brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.
