“God Friended Me” star Brandon Micheal Hall will receive the Governor’s School’s President’s Alumni Award at “Artists in Bloom,” presented by TD Bank.

For the fifth year , TD Bank will present “Artists in Bloom,” a fundraising event benefitting the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH), on Thursday, April 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Avenue in downtown Greenville. This unique engagement, hosted by the SCGSAH Foundation, celebrates the school’s young artists from across the state and features student performances and works.

“TD Bank has proudly supported the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities since it’s inception, because we recognize the value of the arts to a community’s growth, prosperity and wellbeing,” said David Lominack, SC Market President for TD Bank. “Regardless of where the careers, talents and passions of these talented students lead them, our hope is that their paths eventually draw them back to South Carolina, where they will continue to inspire and shape our future.”

This year’s guest of honor is “God Friended Me” star Brandon Micheal Hall, who will receive the 2019 President’s Alumni Award. This honor is bestowed on an accomplished graduate who has shown a commitment to the arts and artistic achievement, while embodying the school’s key values.

Hall graduated from the Governor’s School’s residential high school drama program in 2011 and attended The Juilliard School for drama. In 2017, he was named one of Variety’s “Top Ten Television Stars to Watch” for his breakout performance in the ABC comedy “The Mayor.” He also starred on TBS’ critically acclaimed series “Search Party.”

“We’re excited to have this opportunity to recognize Brandon Micheal Hall and the incredibly talented students of the Governor’s School,” said Rochelle Williams, SCGSAH Foundation executive director. “We encourage arts supporters to get to know these emerging artists and experience their talent first hand at “Artists in Bloom,” and we are grateful for TD Bank’s investment in our mission which makes this event possible.”

Located in Greenville, the Governor’s School’s mission is to serve the artistically talented students of South Carolina through programs of pre-professional instruction in an environment of artistic and academic excellence. The school also serves as a resource for all teachers and students in the state.

Event proceeds will directly benefit Governor’s School students, professional development opportunities for teachers, and special arts education programs.
