SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation Elects New Members to Board of Directors

The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities Foundation is pleased to welcome Jay Geddings and Lane Gardner to its Board of Directors. Geddings and Gardner will bring their passion, skills, and perspectives to the board, enriching the Foundation's efforts to support arts education across the state.


“We are thrilled to welcome Jay and Lane to the Foundation’s board,” said Executive Director, Amanda Herlihy. “Their professional expertise, leadership, and passion for the arts will strengthen our mission to support the next generation of South Carolina’s young artists. Their strong ties to the Governor’s School and the arts will be an amazing asset to our Board.”


Jay Geddings is a financial advisor and principal with Edward Jones in Tryon, NC, where he supports individual investors and leads more than 50 branch teams. A proud alumnus of the Governor’s School’s summer Visual Arts program, Jay brings not only deep financial experience but a personal connection to the school’s mission. He currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Polk County Community Foundation and has held leadership roles with the Rotary Club of Tryon and St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation.


Lane Gardner, a native of Rock Hill, SC, is a civil litigator at Bell, Davis, Pitt, PA in Charlotte, NC. A graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in theatre. Lane brings both legal insight and an enduring appreciation for the arts.


As board members, Geddings and Gardner will help guide the Foundation’s work in providing financial assistance, guest artist residencies, and transformational arts experiences for students at the Governor’s School and throughout South Carolina.
