Our Dance program creates well-rounded and versatile dancers who are eligible for a diverse range of future opportunities. Alumni have joined companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Kansas City Ballet, Mark Morris Dance Group, Richmond Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Ballet San Antonio, Charlotte Ballet, Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Oklahoma Ballet 2, and Cincinnati Ballet 2. 

Alumni Highlights

  • Marija Abney (2003) her BFA from The Ailey School/Fordham University, her MA from NYU’s TISCH in performance studies and is an alumni of The William Esper Studio’s Two Year Meisner Training Program. She was featured as “The Cheetah” in Disney’s The Lion King, performed in FOX Searchlight’s Black Nativity, and Broadway’s After Midnight, which won a TONY award for best choreography. Additional theater credits include: New York City Opera’s final production of Anna Nicole, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, and In Your Arms at San Diego’s Old Globe Theater. Film/tv credits include: Luke Cage, Isn’t It Romantic, The TONY Awards, Dancing with the Stars, The Tick, The Latin Grammy Awards, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She recently joined the Marvel Comic Universe as a member of the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all-female elite military force, in Black Panther and will reprise her role in Avengers: Infinity War and the final installment of Avengers to be released in 2019.
  • Elena Bello (2008) studied dance at Purchase College before auditioning for Richmond Ballet. She spent two years as an apprentice and one year in Richmond Ballet II, and became a member of the Richmond Ballet professional company where she is now enjoying her fourth season.
  • Gray Davis (2004)  joined ABT's Studio Company in 2005 and joined the main Company as an apprentice in January 2007 and the corps de ballet later that year.  He was the 2003 Gold medalist recipient of the Youth American Grand Prix and the 2004 overall Grand Prix winner at the NYC finals. Davis also received the NY State Liberty Medal, the highest civilian honor bestowed by the New York State Senate for his bravery in rescuing a man from the subway tracks in spring 2017. Gray was a principal member of the American Ballet Theatre, where he retired in 2018. 

  • Whitney Huell (2004) attended Indiana University earning a B.S. in Ballet and Psychology before joining Ballet West in Salt Lake City, UT. With Ballet West, she performed featured roles in Paquita, Sleeping BeautyCinderella, Petit Mort and Jewels.  In 2011, she was one of Dance Magazine’s Top 25 to Watch and was also featured in the September 2012 issue of Pointe Magazine. She then joined the Kansas City Ballet in 2014. With Kansas City Ballet, she has performed works by Amy Seiwert and Edwaard Liang and has been featured as the Caterpillar in Septime Webre’s  Alice (in Wonderland), 3rd Theme in Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments and Snow Queen and Arabian in Devon Carney’s new production of The Nutcracker. She has also modeled for Elevé Dancewear. 
  • Jonathan Spigner (2009) trained at Académie Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo and joined Hong Kong Ballet as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2010 and was named Coryphée in 2014.  With Hong Kong Ballet, he has danced featured roles including Fritz and Spanish Doll in Terence Kohler’s The Nutcracker, Puss in Boots in Cynthia Harvey’s The Sleeping Beauty, Gamache in Nina Ananiashvili’s Don Quixote, Executed Prince in Natalie Weir’s Turandot and Young Uncle Tak in Yuri Ng’s Firecracker. Since joining the Company, Spigner has premiered choreographic works at Hong Kong Ballet's Choreographers’ Showcase

  • Anson Zwingelberg (2013) attended The Juilliard School and then joined the Charlotte Ballet.
