Directions to the Governor's School

From Columbia/Charleston/CHS Airport
  • Take I-26 West to I-385 into downtown Greenville.
  • At the first major intersection past the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, turn left onto Church Street.
  • Continue through several red lights on Church Street, cross the bridge and up a hill to University Ridge.
  • Turn right on University Ridge at the Marathon Station and stay in the right lane as you pass County Square.
  • Yield right onto Howe Street.
  • Go one block on Howe until you arrive at the traffic circle. The school’s entrance is the second right.
  • Public Safety will assist you with parking.

From Spartanburg/Charlotte/CLT Airport/GSP Airport
  • Take I-85 South to I-385 into downtown Greenville.
  • At the first major intersection past the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, turn left onto Church Street.

From Anderson/ATL Aiport
  • On I-85 South, take I-185 into the city where it becomes Mills Avenue and as you cross Augusta Street, Mills Avenue becomes Church Street.
  • Stay in your left lane as you go up the hill, turn left at University Ridge at the Marathon Station.
  • Stay in the right lane on University Ridge as you pass County Square.
  • Turn right onto Howe Street. Go one block to the traffic circle, school entrance is the second right. 
From Asheville
  • Take I-26 East to Hwy 25 South.
  • Hwy. 25 becomes Poinsett Highway and then Rutherford Street.
  • After the Hardee’s turn left on Pete Hollis Blvd.
  • As you pass the Upstate History Museum and Hughes Library on the left, the street is now one-way and becomes North Street.
  • Go to the major intersection and turn right onto Academy Street.
  • After the bridge, turn left on Camperdown Way.
  • At the first light turn right on River Street.
  • Go straight through the next light and from the left lane, bear right on Augusta Street.
  • Go one block and turn left at University Street.
  • Go one block to the traffic circle, school entrance will be the third right.       
From Easley 
  • Take Hwy. 123, which becomes Easley Bridge Road. 
  • You will pass St. Francis Hospital on the right and after you pass Pendleton Street, it will become Academy Street.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Camperdown Way.
  • Stay in your right lane and at the first light, turn right on River Street.
  • Go straight through the next light and go one block and from the left lane, bear right on Augusta Street.
  • Go one block and turn left at University Street. Go one block to the traffic circle and the school’s entrance will be the third right.
  • Public Safety will assist you with parking.  
From Pickens
  • Follow Hwy. 183 which becomes Cedar Lane Road, then Pete Hollis Boulevard.
  • You’ll start to get into downtown and will pass the Upstate History Museum and Greenville Hughes Library on the left as the street splits into a one way and becomes North Street.
  • Go to first major intersection and turn right onto Academy Street.
  • Continue on Academy Street and get in the left lane.
  • After the bridge, at the bottom of the hill, get into the left turn lane and turn left on Camperdown Way.
  • Immediately get in your right lane and at the first light turn right on River Street.
  • Go straight through the next light and go one block and from the left lane, bear right on Augusta Street.
  • Go one block and turn left at University Street.
  • Go one block to the traffic circle and the school’s entrance will be the third right.
  • Public Safety will assist you with parking.
