Music Summer Programs

For decades, young musicians have immersed themselves in their chosen musical concentration during an unforgettable week in the Governor’s School Summer Programs. Our programs are designed to elevate your skills and allow you to connect with fellow music students from across the state. Summer programs are led by dedicated artists and teachers who are committed to the pursuit of their own work while sharing their knowledge, technique, professionalism, and experience. All programs have elective courses where students can explore classes including composition, conducting, music theory, improvisation, musical styles, and music literature. Each program has daily practice time built into the schedule where students utilize one of our many practice spaces for individual practice.

The Music Department offers the following overnight summer programs:

Music Student Cello Soloist on stage performing
Summer students playing brass instruments in class
Two male students on two pianos rehearsing on stage
Student vocalists on stage performing.
