Enrollment is now open for the 2015-2016 school year at the South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH). Students interested in attending the Residential High School or 2015 summer programs in all art areas should submit completed applications postmarked no later than January 9, 2015 for full consideration.
Twelve students from the South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) were named 2015 National Young Arts Foundation winners. The National YoungArts Foundation has been recognizing and supporting the nationís most talented 15-18 year-olds in the areas of visual, literary and performing arts from throughout the United States.
For the sixth consecutive year, the South Carolina Governorís School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) earned an overall rating of ďExcellentĒ on the State of South Carolinaís Annual School Report Card, released by the stateís Department of Education. Find out more here.
The SCGSAH Music Department presents a piano ensemble concert Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Smith Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
Drama seniors from the South Carolina Governorís school for the Arts and Humanities will present Millerís America, an exploration of the work of Americaís preeminent playwright, Arthur Miller. Actors will present selections from three of his best plays, All My Sons, A View from the Bridge, and The Crucible in rotating repertory in Sakas Theatre, November 19th - 23rd.
