The SC Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities Foundation supports the Governor’s School by funding needs not met by state operating funds, such as underwriting special programs, projects and experiences offered at the School and by providing financial and other assistance directly to the students.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Historically, more than 25% of the Governor’s School summer program students have been granted full or partial scholarships to enable them to participate. Similarly, more than 30% of the residential students have received Foundation support to pay the annual $3,800 meal plan fee, which is the only cost to attend the School.

VISITING GUEST ARTISTS

An essential component of the Governor’s School's artistic education is the Visiting Guest Artist Program.  This unique program provides the opportunity for Governor's School students to work directly with master artists who are at the pinnacle of their field. It also creates opportunities for outreach and community engagement through school visits and performances and exhibitions that are offered free to the public.

OUTREACH

The Governor’s School is committed to the growth of our state’s vibrant arts education community. As part of the school’s mission to serve as a resource to all teachers and students in South Carolina, the Governor's School offers a comprehensive  and ever-growing series of Outreach programs designed to bring together artists, educators, community organizations, and students. These opportunities seek to match our available resources with the needs and interests of schools and partners statewide.
