Professional Learning
Arts-Based Professional Learning
The Governor's School understands that arts teachers should have the opportunity to practice their craft, allowing us to provide a teacher-as-artist model for professional learning.
Our school offers a wide range of specialists, so teachers can expect to dive deeply into a single content area and immerse themselves in both creativity and pedagogy.
As part of the Governor's School mission to be a resource to ALL schools in SC, professional learning opportunities are typically free of charge.
The Governor's School offers the following professional learning and professional leadership as resources to teachers throughout South Carolina:
- Teachers can travel to our campus and host a professional learning day here in our studios with an SCGSAH faculty or staff member (based on availability). These days are scheduled, upon request, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday mornings.
- Teachers or administrators can invite our faculty or staff to their schools for district professional learning days.
- Conference planners can request faculty or staff members for break-out session opportunities, panel discussion, or workshop leadership.
