Governor's School students are invited and encouraged to cultivate their own service interests through the Connecting Arts Through Service (C.A.T.S.) club.
One of the Governor's School's longest-running clubs, C.A.T.S, provides opportunities for students to use their skills and knowledge in real-life situations while developing a sense of social awareness, responsibility, and leadership. Students are encouraged to complete a service learning project of their choosing, individually or as a group. Using the IPARD method, students Investigate a need in the community, Plan ways to address those needs, Act on those plans, Reflect on what they are learning, and Demonstrate their learning.
C.A.T.S. service learning projects this year fall under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
"To have the opportunity to impact a community is a blessing. C.A.T.S brings me joy everyday knowing that I can empower people and bring awareness to the community I live in."
