The Governor's School invites teachers who are seeking arts-based field trips to bring students to our campus in Greenville for a memorable, engaging experience.

"This is the best field trip I have ever been on with my child. The students were so engaged, and the instructor was so good with the students." - Field Trip Chaperone

Why should you visit?

High quality, arts-based field trips enhance standards-based practice and encourage young artists to reflect on the role of the arts in their everyday lives.

Who should attend?

4th-12th grade students, teachers, and chaperones. We can host up to 30 individuals.

What will you learn?

All visits are customized to connect teachers' needs with our available resources. Each visiting teacher has the opportunity to select from a range of options. Learn more about programming below.

Tours

A Day in the Life of a Govie

See our campus through the eyes of an SCGSAH student, from the residence halls, to our specialized arts facilities, to the spaces where our students spend their free time. This tour is a great way to get a holistic view of campus while allowing your students to interact with and ask questions of a current student.

Careers in the Arts

This tour and presentation is designed especially for groups from specific art areas. Students will explore the variety of "unexpected" careers for which the arts can prepare them and will explore the specialized facilities in which our artists practice these unique skills each day. Finally, students will hear from a member of our faculty (based on availability) about their artistic career.
