The Instrumental Early Admission (IEA) program allows gifted and socially mature instrumentalists to apply early to our Residential High School and complete their 10th-12th grade years at the Governor's School. A limited number of IEA students are invited to attend each year.

How to Apply & Audition
Applicants must be instrumental musicians (not vocalists). By applying to IEA, students are automatically considered for our 2-week Academy summer program.
Students apply in 9th grade to attend in 10th-12th grades. An online application process, which includes demographic and arts information, must be completed to be considered for admission. The application portal will be used to request recommendations and upload other required materials.
Music applicants are required to submit a video with the application. Select applicants will be invited to a formal, in-person IEA audition and interview.
