Scott Gould is the author of the story collection, Strangers to Temptation (Hub City
Press); a novel, Whereabouts (Koehler Books); and the memoir, Things That Crash, Things
That Fly (Vine Leaves Press). A new collection of stories, Idiot Men, will be published
in August 2021 by Springer Mountain Press, and a second novel, The Hammerhead
Chronicles, will be published in February 2022 by the University of North Georgia
Press. His work has appeared in Kenyon Review, New Madrid Journal, Crazyhorse, Garden
& Gun, Carolina Quarterly, Pembroke Magazine, Black Warrior Review, New Ohio Review,
New Stories from the South, and The Bitter Southerner, among others. He is a two-time
winner of the S.C. Arts Commission’s Individual Artist Fellowship in Prose.
Gould has taught creative nonfiction and screenwriting in the Creative Writing
Department since 2004.
