Governor's School students are invited and encouraged to cultivate their own service interests through the Connecting Arts Through Service (C.A.T.S.) club.
One of the Governor's School's longest-running clubs, C.A.T.S, provides opportunities for students to use their skills and knowledge in real-life situations while developing a sense of social awareness, responsibility, and leadership. Students are encouraged to complete a service learning project of their choosing, individually or as a group. Due to restrictions on in-person programming during the 2020-2021 school year, this year’s C.A.T.S. students will focus on advocacy and in-direct service. Using the IPARD method, students will Investigate a need in the community, Plan ways to address those needs, Act on those plans, Reflect on what they are learning, and Demonstrate their learning.
C.A.T.S. service learning projects this year fall under the following Sustainable Development Goals:
- #1 No Poverty
- #3 Good Health and Well-Being
- #4 Quality Education
- #14 Life Below Water
- #15 Life on Land
