ABOUT OUR EVENTS

Proceeds from our events increase access to the school for students with financial needs, support the school's efforts to provide arts education in under-resourced counties, and help bridge the gap between state funding and the unique needs of a premier public arts school.

Make a Lukasa with the Govies! This semester, our visual arts students discovered the Lukasa—a memory recording device originated by the Luba people in 16th century Congo. These fascinating hand-held pieces were made to keep memories and share stories. Faculty member Elaine Quave ‘01 will teach you to create your own treasure inspired by your unique life story.
