Scholastic Art & Writing Awards 2021

Over 80,000 students across the country participated in the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards with nearly 230,000 total entries. Less than one percent of these works received national medals, and five of them were created by Governor's School students—two of which received the competition's top honors.

Now in its 98th year, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are the nation's longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program for young artists and writers in grades 7–12. The Awards serve as a launchpad for furthering students' future success by providing them with access to scholarship programs and workshops, as well as the ability to have their work published and displayed in regional and national exhibitions. Distinguished alumni include Andy Warhol, Joyce Carol Oates, Kay WalkingStick, and Charles White. To learn more, and to find a complete list of the 2021 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Medalists, visit: artandwriting.org
