As part of their year-long, 25th anniversary celebration, the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is presenting a special staged reading of John Logan's Tony Award-winning play, "Red," examining the work and philosophy of renowned abstract painter Mark Rothko. The reading, featuring prominent school alumni and faculty, will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, 7 p.m. in Sakas Theatre at the Governor’s School.

The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities is proud to announce that Nathaniel Greenberg, of Hilton Head, and Indigo Nath, of Anderson, have been named Semifinalists in the 70th Annual National Merit Scholarship Program. In addition, Governor’s School students Tatiana Fasnacht, Isabel Garcia, Sophia Myers, and Mya Sinclair have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.

ABC Certified School

The South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities has been recertified as an Arts in Basic Curriculum (ABC) School, a designation that recognizes its commitment to arts education as a fundamental component of student development.
